Registro de Recordari. Taller 7, Medellín, 2018.
Nostalgia and recovery
The word "recordar" in Spanish (to remember), comes from the Latin recordari, formed from "re" (de nuevo - again) and "cordaris" (corazón - heart). To remember means much more than having someone present in your memory. It means "go through the heart again." This work is the product of a residence I did in the city of Medellín, where I built some reflections on the act of remembering my absent partner. These events led me to carefully select and compose the images present in this installation, seeking to point out some formal crossings between the experiences lived in the house where my partner lived in Bogotá and the place I lived in during the residency.
